The oven is the first step in the electric motor repair, to wipe out the resin and painting from the copper wire in the motor.

The unique aspect of the oven is its rear mount afterburner. After the air leaves the oven chamber through the powered exhaust it enters the afterburner. The afterburner maintains exhaust gas temperature of 1400º – 1500º F for a minimum of ½ second residence-time to eliminate any smoke and odor.

This process makes the oven much more environmentally friendly than a standard Class A oven. A standard class A oven is required to have a powered exhaust fan to safely remove any volatile organic compounds from the oven chamber to prevent fires inside the oven.By adding the afterburner to the unit HCS FURNACE designed a solution to eliminate nearly all of the smoke and odor present in the air stream.

Process Description

Burn off Ovens are designed to remove combustible material from hooks, racks, fixtures, and parts. Removal of the material is accomplished by heating the substrate to a preset temperature in an oxygen starved atmosphere. The combustible material is reduced to a fine, light ash and fumes. The fumes produced are vented through an afterburner chamber which raises the fume temperatures to 1400F and higher for a minimum of ½ second. The resultant effluent discharged to atmosphere consists of water vapor (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Ash reduction remains inside the oven and consists primarily of inorganic pigments. Ash is removed from the oven and disposed of in accordance with local codes.

A cart is provided for loading and unloading the parts.

A rear mount afterburner is included with high temperature exhaust stack, burner system, made from 310S stainles steel metal chamber .

HCS FURNACE batch burn-off ovens are user friendly and safe for the environment.
